The Northwest ABLE Resource Center is housed on the main campus of Owens Community College in College Hall. Jody Angelone serves as the Director for the Northwest ABLE Resource Center and Pam Brenneman is the Grant Specialist. Office hours are Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Mission The mission of the Ohio Resource Center Network is to enhance the capacity of adult and literacy education programs to provide quality education for adults, families, and workers. The Northwest ABLE Resource Center, at Owens Community College, provides services for Northwest Ohio to support this mission.
Goals and Objectives To provide support services for continuous improvement of adult basic and literacy education programs in Ohio.
- Assess needs of programs and personnel
- Provide opportunities for staff development and professional development
- Collect, develop, and disseminate resources
- Provide technical assistance
To provide leadership in adult basic and literacy education.
- Serve as Ohio Board of Regents (ABLE) planning and development team
- Foster joint planning, coordination, and collaboration at the national, state, and local levels
- Serve as an advocate for adult basic and literacy education
- Research adult basic and literacy education issues

These resources can be accessed through the ABLE Surpass system or by calling Pam Brenneman at (567) 661-7161 or pamela_brenneman@owens.edu. Materials can be exchanged by mail.
Evaluation The Ohio Resource Centers believe in the importance of on-going evaluation and will solicit feedback from the Ohio Board of Regents, directors, coordinators, ABLE personnel, and professional organizations through informal surveys at meetings. The success of the Resource Centers is addressed in a year-end report.
