Assessment Directory
Northwest ABLE

The purpose of this directory is to give a brief overview of the purpose of the instruments, time requirements and cost so that teachers can decide which documents to further investigate for appropriate use.  The Northwest ABLE Resource Center will update the directory annually to reflect current prices, contact information and State ABLE policy.

The Ohio Board of Regents (OBR) Adult Basic and Literacy Education Program has identified specific standardized assessments that are approved for documenting a student’s placement, progress and level advancement.  Those assessments are outlined in the first chart of the directory.  Following the policy are additional charts divided into specific content areas. The chart for each content area lists state-approved standardized assessments before listing additional assessments/screening tools. Inclusion of these documents (shown in italics on the Table of Contents) does not imply a recommendation for their use, but simply another tool that teachers may want to consider in the process of gathering, describing or quantifying information about student performance or learning.

For further information regarding any of the assessments you can go to the links provided on the charts or contact the Northwest ABLE Resource Center at nwrc@nwable.org or 567-661-7675.
